Rumble is an installation art piece that examines the dynamic interplay between human interaction, nature, and architecture. The project merges cutting-edge technology with artistic exploration to create an immersive sensory environment.
Central to Rumble, is its interactive audiovisual system. Audio elements were routed into Ableton Live, enabling real-time sound manipulation to enhance the installation’s responsive and immersive qualities. The visuals responded dynamically to the lively sounds of the room, creating a seamless dialogue between sight, sound, and space.
The project was a collaborative effort, bringing together the creative insights of Harvard Architecture students, MIT's Opera of the Future students and Berklee Interdisciplinary Arts Institute. Guided by renowned composer and technologist Tod Machover, the installation debuted at the MIT Media Lab, a testament to its technical sophistication and artistic impact.
Audiences responded with awe, describing the piece as "primal," "effective," "clear," and even eliciting the reaction "HOW?" This highlights Rumble's ability to evoke deep emotional and intellectual responses, solidifying its place as a thought-provoking exploration of the human connection to environment and design.
Ziaire Trinidad Sherman worked as the Project Manager, Audio Supervisor and Visual System Designer on Rumble.
