MOON IS FALLING

Moon is Falling is a track that navigates landscapes. Where would we go if the moon fell? With the baritone saxophone being the protagonist traveling to unknown lands, the synth textures play the of foreshadowing what’s to come in the feature. The piece incorporates the spirit of Chicago Drill, the rhythms of Afro-Caribbean music and puts them through the lens of Jazz. This leads to a sonic odyssey unlike any other.

This was inspired by the sounds of Stretch Music by Christian Scott, the Shigeto Ensemble and the Comet is Coming. These three groups are currently pushing the format, textures and anatomy of Jazz. This project was cultivated under the guidance of Thavius Beck (Ableton, Nine Inch Nails). Moon is Falling features a selection from “Yeye Ochun” by Los Munequitos de Matanzas.

All Produced, Played, and Mixed by Ziaire Trinidad Sherman
