JUST PASSING THROUGH

This project started as a suggestion from Carlos Casa (Fabrica, Documenta), to use Fabrica as my playground. Ziaire, along with Giorgia Burzio and Olivia Funes, decided to imagine a performance developed on the exhibition’s manifesto.The piece would feature three groups consisted of all the exhibitors, the chorus, the band, the mics. The band and the mics formed a circle inclosing the crowd inside the performance. The chorus would respond together or separately to piece of the performance. This allowed for a spatial experience for the audience. This section’s music was reminiscent of a pysch rock march. Between all the groups, was surrounded with call and response. This was to highlight the idea that as humans we are constantly learning and adjusting to our environment.

The band, directed by Ziaire featured several artist who have decided to leave behind their passion for music. The idea with the music was to develop something that would be straightforward, easy, and personalizable.Not only did the group have different levels of experience but everyone was from different countries as well. In the end, this made for a heartwarming experience and was showcased in the second half of the piece. This part consisted of “curtain call” for the band. Each player had their moment to shine. In the end, key parts of the manifesto are restated and the Fabrancti leave the audience with Just Passing Through.
